All job adverts include the contact details of someone at The Royal Marsden to talk to if you want to find out more. Please get in touch with them if you are interested in the vacancy or if you require access or technical assistance with the online application form.
Job description and person specification
Before you fill in your application form take time to read and think about the job description, person specification and any other information that is relevant to the job and outlined in the advert. Please think about every point carefully so that you know what the job involves and whether you can match this in terms of your skills, abilities and knowledge.
Parts of the form
Fill in all parts of the application form. A good application will tell us about any education and training that you have received as well as any relevant experience in your present and previous jobs. If you have undertaken any work experience or voluntary work, tell us about the skills and knowledge you have gained from that too. Any gaps in dates of employment should be clarified in the space provided on the form.
The supporting statement section is an important part of the application form where you can show how your skills and experience make you a good candidate for the job. Think about how you can use your skills, experience and knowledge and relate them to the items listed on the person specification. Examples of how and where you have used your skills, experience and knowledge will give clear evidence of your competency.
