- Disposable pad

- Thigh strap for tethering
- Sterile gloves
- Sterile water
- Selection of appropriate catheters
- Syringe (as required to obtain a urine sample)
- Sterile anaesthetic or lubricating jelly
- Universal specimen container
- Drainage bag and straps or catheter valve
- Clean towel or similar
