Coronavirus (COVID-19): visiting The Royal Marsden suspended

Coronavirus (COVID-19) latest: Visiting The Royal Marsden is still suspended, but we want to reassure our patients, their families and anyone worried about cancer during this difficult time that we are still delivering treatment - the hospital is open. Please see more information here about how we are keeping everyone safe.

Private Care Surgical Unit

Our new Private Care Surgical Unit opened in September 2015.

  • Six bays
  • Two consulting rooms

The Private Care Surgical Unit is a newly refurbished dedicated ward on the first floor of the main hospital. It is fully equipped with six bays and bespoke privacy screens.

Two consulting rooms give added privacy for minor procedures or discussions with anaesthetists, consultants or nurses.

The 'S' shaped nurses' station is visible from each bay and the glass ceiling floods the area with natural light.

Location

The Private Care Surgical Unit is located on the first floor of the Chelsea Wing. To access the ward, enter the hospital through the main entrance on Fulham Road and turn right at the reception desk. Turn immediately left and left again to enter the lifts and go to the first floor. The Unit entrance is in the lift lobby area.

Facilities for disabled patients and visitors

We’ve worked with AccessAble to create accessibility information for the Private Care Surgical Unit

Staff

The nursing staff are highly trained in cancer care and caring for patients undergoing day surgical procedures. They will support you throughout your time on the Unit and will work to protect your privacy and dignity at all times.
