Biography

Dr Lesley Edwards is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at The Royal Marsden, and is the Lead Consultant for the Paediatric Psychological Medicine Service Group. She leads a comprehensive psychological and psychiatric assessment and intervention service for paediatric oncology patients.

She trained at the Institute of Psychiatry (London) and University of Surrey and has further training in family and couples therapy from the Institute of Family Therapy (London). She is a member of several national groups in the field of paediatric oncology and psycho-oncology, and has received three consecutive patient information awards from the BMA.

Dr Lesley Edwards is a chief or principal investigator of several research projects. Her research interests include:

  • social functioning and social competence in survivors of paediatric brain tumours
  • the development of a new paediatric psychosocial screening tool
  • survivorship.
