Biography

Dr David Watkins is a Consultant Medical Oncologist based at The Royal Marsden, Sutton, specialising in the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers.

Dr Watkins completed his medical training at St George’s Hospital Medical School and undertook specialist oncology training at The Royal Marsden, The Kent Oncology Centre and St Luke’s Cancer Centre, Guildford. He was appointed as a Consultant at The Royal Marsden in 2012 and is the Acute Oncology lead for Epsom St Helier NHS Trust.

He is an active contributor to research through peer review journals and has given international oral conference presentations. His research interests are focused on the clinical development of novel therapies for gastrointestinal malignancies. He is the principle investigator for a number of clinical trials and sits on trial management groups and independent data monitoring committees.
