BS EN ISO 9001:2008

Every March and September, The Royal Marsden is assessed against the BS EN ISO 9001:2008 quality standard for radiotherapy and chemotherapy services by an external assessor from the British Standards Institution (BSI).

This international standard provides the requirements for a quality management system, which is a framework for an organisation to control its processes in order to achieve objectives such as customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance and continual improvement.

Radiotherapy

Our BS EN ISO 9001:2008 compliance for radiotherapy assesses:

  • safety, accuracy and therapeutic effect
  • assessment of adult and paediatric patients
  • prescription, planning and delivery of external beam radiotherapy
  • brachytherapy
  • professional and technical support
  • administration, including audit, customer focus and service improvement measures.
