We look at the potential and actual impact that our policies, services and processes have on people who share a protected characteristic and those who don’t.
We do this to eliminate discrimination, promote equality of employment and service opportunity and to foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who don’t. The process we use to do this is called an Equality Impact Assessment (EIA).
Our process has two stages: a screening stage and a full assessment stage. All the different protected equality strands are covered under our EIA process.
