Referral information for clinicians

Referring your private patients through our new Rapid Diagnostic and Assessment Service is fast and straightforward.

If you wish to refer your patient to The Royal Marsden for diagnostic tests or treatment, simply call our Central Referral and Information Line. One of our dedicated operators will guide you through the referral process.

The line is open six days a week and you can refer your patient to a specific consultant.

Christmas Opening Times

The Private Care Referrals and Information Line will be closing at 16:00 on 24 December and will re-open at 10:00 on Saturday, 27 December.

Information required for referral

  • Patient name
  • Patient date of birth
  • Patient gender
  • Patient home address and (if applicable) temporary UK address
  • Patient telephone number(s)
  • Patient email address
  • Funding details (including insurer's name if funding through medical insurance)
  • Patient GP details (UK only)
  • Cancer diagnosis
  • Treatments had to date
  • Current treatment and medications
  • Current test results (bloods, scans, histopathology reports)

Referral information for patients

If you would like to be treated at The Royal Marsden as a private patient, please ask your family doctor or other consultants involved in your care to refer you using the information above.

Letters of referral can be sent direct to the consultant at The Royal Marsden or via the Central Referral and Information Line who will direct your case to the most appropriate consultant for you.
