What we collect

Certain forms on this website allow us to collect the following information about you:

  • name
  • contact information, including email address
  • demographic information, such as age, gender and ethnic group
  • a friend’s name and email address (on the ‘email this to a friend’ form)
  • other information relevant to your reason for contacting us.

In addition to this, we also have a facility to pay for places at events run by the Education and Conference Centre. Payment transactions are handled by our partner WorldPay, a secure payment processing provider and wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. Your credit/debit card and related personal details are collected by WorldPay in order to process your payment. More details regarding WorldPay’s terms and conditions, and privacy and security policies can be found by visiting the WorldPay website.

What we do with the information we gather

Any personal information you send to us via this website will be collected and stored, and used only for the purpose for which it was intended. For example:

  • If you use our feedback form to submit a concern or complaint, we will use the contact details you provide to get in touch with you and discuss the best way to deal with the matter.
  • If you use our email contact form to send an email to The Royal Marsden, that email will be forwarded to the appropriate individual to deal with your enquiry.
  • If you register for a GP Education Day or other event your details will be used by the event organisers to manage your registration and provide you with information about the event.

We will store this information for internal monitoring purposes (for example, we occasionally audit the amount of time it takes an email query to receive a response) but we will not share the information you send to us with anyone else.

In addition, we monitor the ‘email this to a friend’ tool to ensure that it is not misused; we may block messages which appear to be spam or which we consider to be unsuitable to have been sent via The Royal Marsden website.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
