Help support The Royal Marsden at the Great South Run
22 July 2008
The Royal Marsden is calling on people to help support one of the word’s leading cancer hospitals, by taking part in this year’s BUPA Great South Run in Portsmouth on Sunday 26 October.
Amanda Heaton, Fundraising and Community Development Manager, said she hoped people would put on their running shoes for The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign: “This is a great way for people who are interested in fundraising for us to get involved; and we hope to fill all of the places available so that we can continue in our efforts to provide the best possible resources and patient care that our community has come to expect of the hospital.”
The 10 mile road running event is one of the most popular races in the UK and one of Europe’s premier events held in the historic city of Portsmouth in October every year. To be involved, all participants need to do is to raise a minimum of £250 and in return, Amanda adds: “they get a lovely green t-shirt, a RMCC good bag on the day and fantastic support from the fundraising team!”
