The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign partners up with Polo Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony Fund

24 April 2008

The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign has become Polo Ralph Lauren’s Pink Pony chosen charity for 2008.

20% of the sale of each Pink Pony item sold in the UK will directly benefit The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.

Launched internationally in September 2000, the Pink Pony Fund supports programmes for early diagnosis, education, treatment and research.

The Cancer Campaign supports The Royal Marsden Hospital, which is based in Chelsea, London and Sutton, Surrey.

Rebecca Butler, The hospital’s Director of Marketing and Fundraising, said she was delighted The Royal Marsden will be working so closely with Polo Ralph Lauren in the UK to raise awareness of the hospital’s groundbreaking work in cancer research and treatment.

She said: “We are thrilled that Polo Ralph Lauren is supporting The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.

“Polo Ralph Lauren has a fantastic Pink Pony collection. Every time someone buys an item from that range, The Cancer Campaign will benefit from 20% of the sale.”

“In January there was a devastating fire at the hospital’s Chelsea and although the hospital is back up and running, knowing we have this type of support is invaluable.

“Every penny we receive goes towards helping us invest in leading edge technology and state-of-the-art facilities so that we can treat more patients, more quickly.”

The Pink Pony collection is sold at Polo Ralph Lauren’s two London stores in Bond Street and Fulham Road and in the Glasgow store in Ingram Street.

A special fundraising evening is also planned at the Ralph Lauren Fulham Road shop in partnership with The Cancer Campaign for September this year.
