Top TV designer teams up with The Royal Marsden

2 April 2008

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has used his design flair to create a special bathrobe in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.

He has designed an embroidered purple and blue exotic flower motif for the back of the limited edition white bathrobes, of which only 100 have been made.

As a committed supporter of The Cancer Campaign, Laurence pledged his help to The Royal Marsden Hospital following the fire in January and when the opportunity came up to have the specially-designed bathrobes made to help publicise the charity, Laurence was deemed the ideal designer to do it.

Rebecca Butler, Director of Marketing and Fundraising, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Laurence has designed such a fantastic bathrobe for The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.

“Following the fire we had so many messages of support, including one from Laurence, and each and every message was appreciated during such a difficult time for the hospital.

“We feel his unique style added some flair to the bathrobe, making it appealing to everyone.”

The bathrobe idea came about when The Cancer Campaign was picked by The Daily Mail Ideal Home Show – which is celebrating its centenary – to be its chosen charity.

The Ideal Home Show organisers contacted www.towelsrus.co.uk, who are exhibiting at the show, with the bathrobe idea and the company generously made and donated the robes to The Cancer Campaign.

Rebecca Butler added: “I would like to say thank you to the Daily Mail Ideal Home Show and towelsrus.co.uk for all their help and generosity in making these bathrobes, it is much appreciated.”

Laurence’s specially designed motif is on the back of the bathrobe and both The Cancer Campaign and Daily Mail Ideal Home Show logos are on the front.

Until 6 April, visitors to the Ideal Home Show, being held at Earls Court, can win one of the bathrobes by picking up an entry form at the seating areas between the Interior Living and Kitchen Ideas sections in Earls Court 1 and at the seating area next to the Eco House in Earls Court 2.
