Festive extravaganza offers guilt-free shopping

1 November 2005

Christmas bargain hunters can shop for presents while raising money for a good cause this festive season at the 14th Christmas Grand Sale, with a percentage of the proceeds going to The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.

Tickets are now on sale for this festive shopping event, which will be the biggest and most diverse sale in its 14 year history, with many of the products on offer not previously available in London.

The three-day event, supported by BBC Homes & Antiques Magazine, takes place at The Royal Horticultural Halls in Victoria from Thursday 24 to Saturday 26 November, 10 am to 6pm.

A special charity sale evening takes place on Wednesday 23 November from 6pm to 9pm. Tickets cost £13, with £7.50 donated directly to the Cancer Campaign. Admission includes a glass of bubbly and canapés. A prize draw and raffle will also be held on the night.

Toni Pardo, Chairman of the Friends of The Royal Marsden, said: "This years Sale promises to be as fresh and exciting as previous events. With unique gifts from across the globe, shoppers don't need to leave London to ensure giving a distinctive gift this Christmas."

From quirky items including decorated Wellingtons, rustic Santas and feather fairies, to luxurious goods such as leather luggage and exclusive Italian olive oil, the Grand Christmas Sale caters for a wide variety of tastes and budgets.

"Last year £7,500 was raised for the hospital's Cancer Campaign," said Toni. "The money we receive from this year's Grand Sale will allow the hospital to dedicate further funds to new facilities and treatment and help to treat more patients, more quickly and more effectively.

"We are extremely grateful to organisers The Value for Money Company and BBC Homes and Antiques Magazine for their continued support and of course to all our festive shoppers."
