Programme summary
This degree programme is an opportunity for healthcare practitioners to explore issues at the forefront of cancer care. The course will enable participants to enhance their existing cancer skills and knowledge, and play a part in shaping the future of cancer care by developing evidence-based practice and clinical leadership skills. It will also provide an opportunity to study the care of patients with a specific cancer or group of care needs in depth by undertaking two of our range of specialist modules.
Who is it for?
The programme is aimed at healthcare professionals working to further their education and professional development within the speciality of cancer care.
Entry requirements
- Recognised professional qualification and current professional registration
- A qualification which provides 120 credits at level 5 or equivalent
- Normally one year’s post-qualification experience in the acute sector working in an environment caring for cancer patients and their carers
- Competence in written and spoken English (IELTS 7.0 or equivalent)

Student support
Each student will be assigned a personal tutor and offered tutorial support throughout the programme as required. Email and telephone support is also available from the personal tutor and individual module leaders.
The Royal Marsden School of Cancer Nursing and Rehabilitation uses an online learning environment called SCaNaR which students must access during their studies to support and enhance our courses. The site provides resources and communication tools. All students will be provided with a username and password to access module specific sections as well as general learning support such as study skills and library resources.
