Discharge support

Discharge coordinators are there to advise patients and their family or carers in planning support to enable them to return home with adequate community services. These services could include assistance with personal care (washing and dressing), or accessing district nursing, community palliative care nurses and other specialist community service providers.

Social work

The London Borough of Sutton and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea provide the social work service at The Royal Marsden.

If you need to speak to a social worker please contact the Discharge Support Team who will direct you to the appropriate service.

To access the welfare rights adviser please contact the Discharge Support Team.

Medical certificates

If you are claiming incapacity benefit or statutory sick pay please ask a nurse for an inpatient medical certificate.
