Inpatient survey

Royal Marsden patients have rated the hospital as one of the best in the NHS for the care and treatment they received while they were inpatients.
Standards of cleanliness and post-operative care also scored highly in the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inpatient survey 2011.
The review stated that patients at The Royal Marsden have confidence and trust in the doctors and felt involved in decisions made about their treatment.
Added to this, patients told the CQC that staff were supportive and available to talk to about any worries or anxiety. Staff were described as providing a high level of emotional as well as medical support.

Liz Bishop, Chief Nurse at The Royal Marsden, said she was “delighted that patients continue to feel supported and confident in the treatment they receive at the hospital.
“Patient experience is very important to us and we are pleased that the recent CQC report reflects the dedication and commitment of our staff.”
The Royal Marsden was also praised for infection control, with the wards, toilets and cubicles described as clean.
