Bud Flanagan Wards

  • 32 beds
  • 20 single rooms
  • Haemato-oncology patients

Bud Flanagan East and Bud Flanagan West are two separate wards. Between them they provide a 32-bed inpatient area for patients that require intensive chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation.

There are 20 single rooms in the wards with filtered-air protected environments. The nurses on the wards are highly skilled in haemato-oncology nursing and are a well-established, enthusiastic team. They are committed to maintaining a high level of evidenced-based patient care.

A Step-Up Unit is situated within Bud Flanagan West. This is a high-dependency bay that provides Level 2 critical care with direct access to the Level 3 Critical Care Unit.

In 2009 we carried out 160 transplants: 100 allografts and 60 autografts.
