Biography
Dr Joy Ross trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School. She did her postgraduate training in General Medicine (MRCP) before specialising in Palliative Medicine (CCST). She completed her PhD at Imperial College, London, funded by the Palliative Care Research Fund at The Royal Marsden. Her interests include symptom control, in particular pain control, and the development of palliative care services for patients with non-malignant diagnoses.
The palliative care team provides both supportive and palliative care for patients attending The Royal Marsden and the Royal Brompton NHS Foundation Trust. The team works alongside primary clinicians and other support services to ensure the best quality of life for individual patients.
Dr Ross’s research interests include improving drug treatments for cancer-related pain and the influence of genetic variation on response to analgesics.
