Biography
Dr Lisa Pickering is a Consultant Medical Oncologist who specialises in the treatment of cancers of the urinary tract: renal cancer, ureteric cancer, bladder cancer, penile cancer and prostate cancer.
Dr Pickering gained an honours degree in Physiological Sciences from the University of Oxford in 1992 and her medical degree in 1995 from the University of London. After completion of general medical training in London she undertook specialist training in Medical Oncology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and St George’s Hospitals. She was awarded a PhD from the University of London in 2007.
She was appointed as a Consultant Medical Oncologist at both St George’s Hospital and The Royal Marsden in 2008, and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George’s University of London. Her major research interests are in the development of new treatments for urological cancers and in determining how to individualise patient treatment by using imaging and molecular biomarkers.
