Biography
Professor Alan Horwich is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden. He specialises in chemotherapy and radiotherapy for testicular cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer and lymphomas.
Professor Horwich's cancer training was at Harvard (The Dana-Farber Cancer Center) and at The Royal Marsden. He has been a consultant here since 1983, and between 1994 and 2005 was the Director of Clinical Research and Development. Currently he is Dean of The Institute of Cancer Research.
He has been responsible for a number of textbooks about cancer, including one focussed on testicular cancer and one on combining chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Among recent book chapters and reviews are The Management of Prostate Cancer, The Systemic Treatment of Prostate Cancer, Chemotherapy of Testicular Seminoma, Technical Developments in Radiotherapy, The Role of Radiotherapy in Lymphomas, Surveillance for Early Testicular Cancer and Treatment of Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer.
