Biography
Dr Mike King is Consultant Oncology Radiologist and was appointed consultant at The Royal Marsden in 1979.
He qualified in Medicine in 1971 from Westminster Medical School, University of London, and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists in 1977.
He leads the imaging service for the Head and Neck Cancer Unit as well as providing imaging support for the Breast Unit and Gynaecological Unit. He was Lead Radiologist between 1997 and 2006 when he was appointed Divisional Medical Director for Diagnostic Services.
He served nine years on the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Radiology, becoming Editor in Chief from 1992–94, and served as an Officer and Member of Council for the British Institute of Radiology until 1995. In 1996, he was elected to the Examining Board of the Royal College of Radiologists and became Senior Examiner in 1999. Subsequently, he acted as External Examiner for the Royal College of Radiologists, serving in Pakistan, Hong Kong and Ireland. He is a Fellow of the International Cancer Society and became Treasurer in 2005.
